Welcome subscribers and viewers of Special Events Oklahoma! I hope that you are navigating around well and getting to know me and my cakes a little better! It is such an honor to be featured in Special Events OK, and I am so excited to get started and get to creating for all of you guys! This section of my site is a way for me to share all the background information that makes my business tick. I am all self taught, and I completely understand the at-home baker eager to learn tips, so I try to explain all the ins-and-outs of the cakes that I create. Feel free to ask questions--I will answer all that I can!

Cooper is Spencer's younger brother. Spencer is my lovey boyfriend of three years. He also is a HUGE help with the business, specifically as the driver. If you get a cake from me, more than likely, you will meet Spencer. If it is personally delivered that is. So this post I thought went up on the 30th, but apparently it didn't save. Sorry guys! This cake was a birthday cake for my neighbor, Carolyn, who also happens to be the founder and owner of Special Events Oklahoma. Wowza. Hey guys! My business cards came in today! They are just first batch, free at vistaprint, but I still think they look nice! I also got square, which allows me to accept credit cards from my phone! I barely have words to describe how this cake went. It almost feels like it was all a dream and when I wake up it won't go that well. Let's start from the beginning. Oh. My. Goodness. I can't believe that yesterday even happened! I
finished an entire topsy-turvy cake in mmmm....probably 8sih hours. All
at one sitting. Okay well except for the baking, carving, and icing
part. But that's the easy portion! I don't even really know where to
begin. I don't have as many construction pictures as I expected, so I

Oi vey. So. The airbrush kit came in last Saturday while Spencer and I were at the zoo to see the elephants. We came home to check it out and....guess what. The air compressor was kaput. I was so bummed! We called TCP Global (our supplier) and the customer service guy said that they could either A: send me the same one again, or B: send me an upgraded version at no cost with rush shipping. Of course I chose the upgraded version! Sad part is that it is ugly and doesn't look like an elephant...... Continue reading...

So guys, last night I went and did it. I ordered an airbrush kit. SO EXCITED!! The air compressor is in the shape of an elephant with his trunk sticking straight up (this is where the air hose attaches). The air hose is blue so it looks like hes shooting water out of his trunk hehe :) It also came with 12 colors, which of course I'm stoked about, and all for less than $100! So it's been a while guys! Cakes have been slow, but I have a feeling they'll be picking up soon. :) Okay. Spencer doesn't particularly like cake, so I decided to try to make him an ice cream cake. I had never done this before, but it seemed easy enough.
